Dear Irvington Community –
We are very excited for the First Annual Irvington Fun Run on Thursday, October 12th! The run builds
community, supports our school, and enables students, staff, and caregivers to have fun together. Our goal is
to have a 100% participation rate in the run – you do not need to raise any money to participate. This
event would not be possible without your help, and we deeply appreciate your support. The funds raised during
the Fun Run will be used for field trips for all students! Any amount raised above our goal will go to the PTA
general fund and be used for other expenses, like classroom supplies, after school class scholarships, and
events.
How the Fun Run Works
On the Fun Run day, teachers will guide students to the playground at specific times based on grade level (see
schedule below). A Fun Run station will be set up where students will start their runs and check in with
volunteer lap counters after each lap. Each grade will have 30 minutes to run as many laps (1⁄4 of a mile) as
possible. The total number of laps run by individuals and by grade will be tallied, and the entire school will win
prizes (see below). Families will then have two weeks to collect all of their monetary pledges from friends and
family. Caregivers/family/friends are welcome to watch and cheer! All students, volunteers, and supporters are
encouraged to wear their Irvington school shirts or blue/yellow!
Donate
Take the stress out of asking for donations by using our online donation system! Friends and family members
can receive a private, electronic invitation from you letting them know that your student is participating in the
Fun Run, which in turn, gives them the opportunity to support them through an online donation.

Donations may be made online or via check/cash through Friday, October 27th. Attached is a Pledge Form
that can be used to track pledges from family and friends if they aren’t able to do the donation online.
Volunteer
Volunteers are needed on Fun Run day to make the event a success! Sign up to be a class helper, station
