Welcome New Families!

Irvington Community

Irvington Elementary is a small neighborhood school located in the heart of Northeast Portland’s Historic Irvington District. We are a diverse, tight-knit community of over 237 elementary school kids and families.  At least 5 languages are spoken at Irvington.  Thirty-five percent of us are students of color and 16 percent of students have Individual Education Plans (IEP).  Each of us is an essential part of the Irvington School family.

And you can be too!

Portland Public Schools Nutrition Services is happy to announce all students will be able to enjoy breakfast and lunch at no charge for the 2024-25 school year. This opportunity is made possible in part by the expansion of federal eligibility and additional funds allocated by the state’s Student Success Act. Families do not need to submit a free and reduced-price meal application. All PPS students are automatically enrolled in this program. Access to nutritious meals is a crucial component of student success and well-being, and we are thrilled to be able to take advantage of this opportunity on behalf of our students.

To read more about it, visit the PPS website.

We care about our student’s wellness. There are people and community organizations who can support you and your family. Connect with any of the supports listed here and/or share your concerns with your medical provider.

The PPS Multilingual Family Line is a service for parents or guardians (in the five PPS supported languages) to communicate with schools regarding attendance, achievement, behavior, assessment, evaluation, registration, parent /teacher conferences, special instruction, disciplinary matters.  Need help?
