Programs

Irvington School offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of our students. Both during the school day and after school there are options for students who need extra help or want to enrich their school day with extracurricular activities. Below is a list of programs currently offered. Click on the title to learn more about each program.

School Programs

Middle Level Grades

Irvington’s Middle Level Program is strong, compelling, and educationally rich. Tours of the school and our Middle Level Program are given the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. Read our brochure for more information. OUR GOAL: Grow and foster each child to his/her fullest potential.

After-School Programs

The PTA and school staff have worked together to offer a variety of extracurricular activities at Irvington School. This list will be updated in the fall of 2011. If you have ideas for activities you would like to see offered, please contact the after-school activities coordinator, Rachel Carlson, at rachelabra@msn.com.

Arnerich Massena

Arnerich Massena, our local business partner, provides the staffing and funding for tutoring groups, a Girl’s Club focusing on service, Homework Club, and Math/Science Club as well as Math/Science and Journalism summer camps. Participation in Arnerich Massena programs is determined by teacher referral.

Arts Enrichment

Each year, the Irvington PTA provides funding for a variety of enrichment activities for kindergarten through 8th grade. If you’d like to get involved, email the PTA president at ptapres@irvingtonschool.com.

IRF (Irvington Reads for Fun)

IRF is a book-distribution program started by the PTA in 2010 when our school no longer qualified for participation in the national RIF program. If you can help out, contact the IRF coordinator, Jen Maas, jlmaas@hotmail.com.

SMART

Irvington participates in the SMART literacy program, which provides reading support for grades K -3. The coordinator for Irvington School is Donna Hughey, dhughey@getsmartoregon.org. For more information or to sign up to volunteer visit http://www.getsmartoregon.org.

TAG (Talented and Gifted)

Through TAG, advanced instruction is provided in the classroom setting for gifted students. Join Irvington’s TAG listserve group by clicking here if you would like to stay abreast of what is happening with Irvington’s TAG program.
